Crimson Make up bag

Looking forward to my summer holiday abroad I was looking for a make up bag that is the perfect size to take all my bits and pieces of make up.

I am thrilled to have found a crimson make up bag by Nikky d’Aguilar that is the perfect size and what’s even more appealing is that its beautifully handmade so no two bags are the same making it quite special as its made with fabric printed from her oil paintings. The paintings are inspired by the flowers, foliage and vibrant colours around her home on Bardowie Loch.

The fabric is a high quality linen union, which is PVC coated on the inside for water resistance and strength. The bags have a waterproof inner lining and are fitted with robust 5mm zips which are colour matched to the fabric. The base is wider so when you fill them they sit flat on your dressing table.

Designed and made in Scotland. Size: 22 x 15

Caring for your Cashmere!

Nothing can feel more luxurious against your skin than cashmere. Its fine texture is not only sumptuously soft but also strong and provides excellent insulation.  Many people admit to being frightened of buying cashmere garments due to their delicate nature when it comes to cleaning. Some would advise that cashmere should be dry clean only; however, this is not always true. Cashmere is actually best when hand washed if you stick to a few simple rules.

Firstly, use cool water and a mild soap such as baby shampoo or a wool specific fabric wash. Gently rub the soap into the garment in the cool water. When rinsing the cashmere, you may wish you use a little hair conditioner acting as a fabric softener. Once rinsed, gently press some of the excess water from the garment, but do not twist or wring the cashmere; this will result in wrinkling as well as cause damage to the fibres and can lead to severe loss of shape. Instead, lay the cashmere flat on a towel and leave to air dry. It is important to avoid hanging damp cashmere as this too can cause loss of shape.  If there are a few minor wrinkles that you wish to eradicate, lay another towel on top of the item and give it a light press with a cool iron.

So now that you have the confidence, have a look at our collection of cashmere. We have a number of 100% cashmere garments for all the family, including gorgeous cashmere ponchos and cashmere wraps for the ladies, stylish cashmere hats and scarves for the gentlemen and cosy cashmere baby blankets for your little ones.  A personal favourite is this stylish cashmere tie neck poncho that was inspired by Coco Chanel, which is good enough to make you feel like Audrey Hepburn!
